These journals contribute to the development and dissemination of knowledge in two different ways. First, by publishing rigorous peer-reviewed conceptual and research-based papers, they promote high academic standards in the published knowledge of coaching. Secondly, they provide a platform for academic work to influence the practice of coaching, by publishing soundbites of the research results relevant to those involved in coaching.

The IJEBCM is an Open Access, international peer reviewed journal, published bi-annually online in February and August since 2003. Reviewing follows a double blind peer review process.
The Journal is open access and allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allow readers to use them for any lawful purpose. The aim of the journal is twofold:
- to provide evidence-based, well-researched resources for students, professionals, corporate clients, managers and academic specialists who need to be at the forefront of developments in the field;
- to offer an accessible yet powerful discussion platform for the growing number of coaching and mentoring practitioners seeking to validate their practice.
